Genting Dreams Cruise Arrival in Melaka

Melaka is set to welcome over 200,000 tourists with the arrival of the luxury cruise ship, Genting Dreams Cruise, from Singapore starting November 10. Chief Minister Datuk Seri Utama Ab Rauf Yusoh announced that Resort World Cruises will bring tourists through the new ‘2 Night Cruises’ package connecting Singapore to Melaka. 

The luxury cruise will dock in Melaka every Monday for 52 weeks, with a 12-hour stopover before continuing its journey.

Promoting Visit Melaka Year 2024

“The arrival of Genting Dreams Cruise in Melaka will draw attention toVisit Melaka Year 2024 (TMM2024) and provide a great opportunity to promote Melaka as an international tourism destination,” said Ab Rauf. He believes that the 12-hour stopover will allow visitors to explore the city’s rich heritage, vibrant culture, delicious cuisine, and shopping experiences.

Positive Impact on Local Economy

Ab Rauf also highlighted that this new attraction is expected to increase the number of tourists visiting Melaka this year and boost the local economy. Tourists will have the opportunity to visit iconic sites such as the Stadthuys Building, Kota A’Famosa, Jonker Street, Taming Sari Tower, and enjoy trishaw rides and Melaka River Cruise.

“We hope that visitors will experience the warm hospitality of Melaka while exploring its historical landmarks, savoring local delicacies, and enjoying the scenic Melaka River,” he added.
